Ascendo coffee is a coffee shop based in San Luis Obispo. We started with the idea that we could make the world a better place by participating in our community through business. This idea is still the heart of our vision. We are humbled by the wonderful relationships we have built in our community.
We fell in love with roasting coffee in 2014, and haven’t looked back. It is the cornerstone of our passion for coffee. We have spent many hours testing roast profiles and rebuilding and modifying our roasters. We are confident in our ability roast specialty coffee consistently well.
In 2015, we moved from our tiny hole in the wall to a 2800 sq ft building two doors down from our original shop. With the help of some friends and family, we did all of the construction ourselves. It was an incredible and humble experience to build something from scratch with the help of the community that we helped create.
In 2017 we got a new name. Ascendo Coffee! Same people, same values, same coffee! Ascendo means “I rise” in latin. The whole of our journey can be described by rising from the very little we had at the beginning. And we certainly couldn’t rise every morning without our coffee!
